CastleRock Companies, Inc. / Our Work / Office Remodeling / Wayzata Office Renovation
The Gehle's came to me with there plans to convert a very old home in Wayzata into an office for there financial planning business. There were a number of conditions we needed to deal with in the renovation of this house. First we could not alter the appearance of the exterior building. The Historic Preservation Committee of Wayzata wanted that concession in order to alter the zoning to allow a business in this location. Second the structure needed to be insulated, which at this point had non except for the attic. Third the center of the building was sagging in the center and needed to be jacked up. It was at this point it was decided to demo the entire interior and start from scratch. Many of the items such as doors, original cast iron radiators were giving or sold to architectural antic dealers. The interior was completely rebuilt to allow for the new office space and a new staircase to the basement conference room. The front stair case was saved and the remainder of the interior reflected this style.
