The Petersons wanted to add additional garage space on to the existing home and change the front entry without looking like an addition was put on to the home. The obvious solution would have been to add the additional two stalls on to the existing garage however a septic system upgrade needed shortly before the project began would have limited the garage space addition to one stall. I suggested adding the garage addition on to the south side of the home which had a steep hill toward the lake. This enabled them to add a two story garage that would allow them additional garage space at lake level. The new front entry would also benefit from this location by filling in the steep hill next to the existing front entry and forming a paved courtyard.
